You haven’t been in Macedonia if you haven’t taste “Vranec”, one of the most important variety of grape in this region. It is a local strong, black and powerful wine with the taste you will never forget.
Our Skopje wine tour is designed the way to introduce the city itself with the sightseeing along the way to the winery. We will pass through the heart of few neighborhoods in Skopje (the old one and the new one) from one to another part of the city, while the guide will introduce you with the information about the life, economical system, education, politics and culture of the capital of Macedonia, which is only 22 km long and 12 km wide spreading between the two mountains, Vodno and Skopska Crna Gora (both full with archaeological sites and Byzantine churches and monasteries).
The main part of the tour is visit and wine tasting in a small boutique family run winery with a warm ambient and welcome owners who are part of every guest visit. Our friendly, charismatic wine lover tourist guide will join you on the tour through the winery. You will get a lecture from an oenology expert and a presentation of the wine-making process by the owners. The short tour is followed by wine tasting (up to 2 hours) of 5 wines: Riesling-white wine, Chardonnay-white wine, Vranec-red wine, Cabernet Sauvignon-red wine and Merlot-red wine, complemented with a plate with few different types of Macedonian cheeses and prosuto, as well as other meat products and bread which locally are known as “meze”. At the end you will have an opportunity to bye a local wines.
